1. Definition of composite materials

Composite materials is defined as "thing coming from the mixture of more than two materials with different properties.¡±
With the advent of the 21st century, human beings have made remarkable achievements in the field of materials by understanding their characteristics as well as promoting creativity in all industries. Critical characteristics of composite materials are as follows.

    1. lightness
    2. greatness of molding
    3. high-shock, high-hardness
    4. low production cost

But not all composite materials have such characteristics. They show big differences including changes of properties depending on compositions and kinds of materials.

2. Kinds and characteristics of composite materials

It is hard to classify kinds of composite materials distinctly.
They are now widely used in many fields. Some are as follows..

    1. Building materials: door, water tank, ceiling plate, bathtub etc.
    2. Industrial goods: hood of heavy equipments, side door, wrench, bumper, panel etc.
    3. Home appliances: air conditioner housing, outdoor bench, telephone booth etc
    4. FRP(Fiber Reinforce Plastic)
        building materials: interior and exterior cladding, and bathtub
        Industrial goods: water tank, chair
        Home appliances: sports equipment, ship materials
    5. GMT(Glass Mat Thermoplastic) industrial goods: bumper, body panel, a variety of industrial armature
    6. Carbone Composite industrial goods: aircrafts, railroad, vehicles, interior or exterior cladding of ships
    7. An inorganic substance composite : used as interior or exterior cladding in industry, as well as for building
        materials and home appliances
